Back in late 2007 and early 2008, I publicly predicted (numerous times) that we were entering the deepest recession since the 1929 Great Depression. At the exact moment I wrote about this, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was testifying in front of Congress that the economy was fine, we were not in recession, and there was little threat of a serious economic decline. It turned out he was dead wrong about everything. A small businessman always knows.

Here at SBYnews - our Editor, and entire staff have been preaching this for over well over 2 years.
We track the local information like none other - and I can tell you that that Wicomico's workforce has been hovering around 50,000 - 51,000 for so long that it is pathedic. Every month we report that the workforce is shrinking by actually publishing the US BLS information.
Right now - our Local Area Workforce number in Wicomico County should be at or above 65,000 - that's right you heard me 65,000. Instead - we are now losing well over a 1000 a month from year over year.
Yet you hear virtually nothing out of the MSM.

I like the one comment that was made that all welfare people should have their names listed in the paper. But take it one step up. At the bottom of the list include a phone number where you could report fraud for a reward. Bet that would shake the numbers up.

Wait until the stock market takes its first correction when the truth hits it. It will look like 1929 all over again... It's gonna hurt a lot of folks. We can't sustain the current market values on lies.
The layoffs, firings, and jod elimination at the poorly managed PRMC alone have greatly impacted the area and any future donations to that institution. It is truly a sad state of affairs.
