My grandfather's brother was in that protest. He later served under MacArthur in the Philippines. He always supported the Washington military action as it being a soldier's duty - his issue was with Hoover and Congress.

Hungry people. Without anything Hungry people. With nothing but some politician's promises. So, someone PLEASE come on here and tell us that OUR soldiers (who are, of course, just "following orders") would NEVER attack other citizens. The police would NEVER shoot fellow Americans. Better think again. Eisenhower and MacArthur (American heroes...) commanded this action....against VETERANS! But history never repeats itself, right? And we don't have hungry, disenfranchised citizens either, right??
