Should Eastern Shore Politicians Follow Suit?

New FBI Director James Comey says he'll direct all new agents to visit the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial to remind them that the Bureau should not abuse its power. He says there are "dangers of becoming untethered to oversight and accountability." Comey addressed more than 3,000 FBI employees and guests in a ceremony at the agency courtyard. President Barack Obama and Former Attorney General John Ashcroft attended. Comey gained national recognition as a Justice Department attorney under Ashcroft. He rushed to Ashcroft's hospital bed to urge him to sign off on a surveillance program they viewed as illegal. Comey took over last month for Robert Mueller.

Visiting any memorial isn't going to stop a government agent from abusing their power. It's in the person. The country has real trouble if the FBI Director of all people thinks visiting a memorial is going to "remind them that the Bureau should not abuse it's power."

The power that is (was) restricted by the Constituion, but overruled by, wait for it.......POLITICIANS. And condoned by people who have been cowered and made afraid of some unseen entity by......politicians. The power to secretly detain (NOT arrest) citizens. The power to confiscate land, money, and personal property without charges or trial, made legal by.....politicians. The power to kill citizens without remorse, granted by politicians. The power to listen to and record everything said or written by electronic means and screw the Constitutional protections citizens used to have. Granted by.....politicians. You need to pay more attention to current events....
