Maryland To Spend $6 Million To Move Housing Agency Out Of Anne Arundel

CROWNSVILLE - The state expects to spend $6 million to move the Department of Housing and Community Development from Anne Arundel to Prince George's County, according to a fiscal briefing presented Wednesday by the Department of Legislative Services.

The Board of Public Works in May approved a lease deal to move the department and its 320 jobs from Crownsville to New Carrollton.

If the project is finished on time, the state's 15-year lease deal with Rockville-based Berman Enterprises will begin June 1, 2015, for the 97,332-square-foot space in New Carrollton.

That't going to sux for employees who will have to commute further. It will add at least 30 minutes drive time.

Joe...you see that Chris Adams, President of Value a Carpet One, is running for the republican seat in District 37A? Search Facebook "Christopher Adams" for his political page. Is a good, stand up guy.

Why is this happening? I thought we were trying to conserve spending. Oh, never mind, they are Democrats.

What was the need to move. The rent is going to be over double what they are paying now. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the people of AA vote. If I remember correctly AA usually votes republican and PG always goes for a democrat. I guess he figures he can get more money in fuel taxes if he makes them drive further.
