Improper tool selection and poor posture.
Long handled shovel would provide much more mechanical advantage and be less tiring. If task takes too long, runs the risk of being late to start dinner.

If you continue to complain about being a nursing tech only making $12.50 then there is nothing stopping you from going to nursing school and getting a better job. I certainly don't feel sorry for you. You should have also kept your legs closed instead of procreating without a marriage partner.
