Ionia, IA – From California's Silicon Valley to the cornfields of Iowa, former computer engineer and now pig farmer, Carl Blake is reinventing the way that Americans eat their pork. Through his technology-based approach and good ol’ fashioned farming, he says he has bred the perfect tasting American pig.
"We're raising our pigs differently because we're raising them how grandma and grandpa used to raise them,” said Blake, owner of Rustik Rooster Farms.

People don't even realize the terrible circumstances pigs
are raised in this day & time.
Kudos! I'd like this in my neighborhood. In fact, we have a "real food" farm right here in Salisbury, MD called greenbranch farm. It's got real milk and beef cuts that taste like BEEF! And basically for not hat much more in price. Actually, I found equal prices there but for real organic food. North of 12 on Nutter's crossroad.
Food stamps have grown perfect pigs as well.
8:13 Maybe in a commercialized setting, but the homestead people treat them right... all the way up to butcher day.... speaking of which.
I have not bought meat from anyone in over 2 years, and it's the best thing ever. Even butcher "shops" around here are a joke. And don't get me started on the "organic" farms locally. Joke.
