Would appear that we aren't trying hard enough .. 39th? We can do better than that .. this is an 'all American City' for crying out loud! It says so on signs coming in to town.
When I went to my 20 year reunion last month, people were amazed at this stat. Well we certainly have earned our nicknames of "crack city", and "Little Bmore". It's going to get ugly as the economy sours if don't all come together and get rid of the cronyism in office and support our communities.
I'd like to know what the story is behind this Whole Truth Project. I lived in western New York for a long time and I find it very hard to believe that Salisbury is ahead of Buffalo in violent crime. Rochester isn't even on the list, and I think four people were shot there last weekend.
10:48 this is based upon a ratio of violent crimes to population. Example: if Little City had 1,000 residents and 100 violent crimes in a year, then that's a 1 out of 10 ratio. If Big City has a population of 1 million and 90,000 crimes their crime RATE is less than Little City's even though their total number of crimes is much higher. It's a relative standard that gives all towns/cities on like footing.

Actually, its an "All America City", which makes less sense...

I wonder why Chicago and DC are not listed here.
Have you ever asked your self WHY?

Chicago and D.C. don't know statistics, that's higher math!

yeah and I just wonder what all those communities have in common! Could it be an underclass of uneducated minorities?
NAH!

Absolutely right.
It's why just one Part 1 crime makes so much of an impact on our stats.

Duh. Do ya think?
How are we coming on that section 8 housing on Fitzwater Street?
If no Chicago the list is no good.
No wait, no DC, Hmmmm did the White House release this list?
Is this based on arrest or conviction?
Salisbury is truly a hell hole nobody can dispute that.
