This was not a structure fire. This was a 3 station alert and no fire as usual. By the way the volunteers got out quickly on this one.

No just one. When ever a structure fire is called into 911 they automatically send out 3 stations.

Nothing but ambulance calls. If anyone is overworked and underpaid it is the paramedics in Salisbury.

Salisbury Fire Department Holds Promotion & Pinning Ceremony
Posted: Aug 20, 2013 9:56 PM EDT Updated: Aug 21, 2013 9:02 AM EDT

By Kelly Rule

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury Fire Department held their promotion and pinning ceremony on August 20th, to recognize some of the achievements and accomplishments of their members.

Salisbury's newest firefighters took an oath, and were pinned by family members and loved ones.

Various city officials expressed their thanks to the firefighters and EMS workers for their hard work in the community. Salisbury City Council President, Jake Day, says they have a very "thankless" job that deserves recognition.

"Every single one of you serves the city everyday, in and out, and it's moments like this that we honor your work."

103 North Division Street garage fire was given out with the directions of "on the right between the plaza and West Church Street." Do you know what is located on the right between the plaza and West Church Street? Answer: Old Court House and the Government Office Building. It appears that someone at the 9-1-1 Center was asleep while they were taking the call and when they were dispatching it. In the end the correct location was announced as 1003 North Division Street. So much for the Wicomico County computer aided dispatch system, ANI (Automatic Number Identification)and all the bells and whistles that we taxpayers are being charged a $1.00 monthly fee for on each telephone line on our telephone bills. Is it time for an investigation of the Emergency Services Department? Of course not, only when someone who is very politically connected is hurt or suffers property loss - things will just remain the same. County council members are you listening? It is time for the council and our wonderful county administration to take action, but we all know that there will not be anything done about these types of errors. The council members and the administration are only available if there is a photo opportunity - or a press release.

Engine 16-1 is responding on the self dispatched medical assist to Milford Street with 18B.

The most hated volunteer in Ocean City/paid man in Salisbury is taking a paid fire crew to chase an ambulance at a doctors office on Milford Street. Forgive me for thinking a doctors office would have more qualified help than a fire engine crew from Salisbury.

Another day and more ignorant jibberish by you and your left wing uneducated readers.

103, that would be the old courthouse? The GOB is 125. I guess the City has to call the farmin since nobody else has to!

Engine 16-1 is self dispatching themselves on an ambulance chasing medical assist again and Central is acknowledging it as a self dispatch. Way to go Wicomico 911!!

The officer has the right to dispatch the unit anywhere a citizen is in need of help. There are medical trained personnel on the engine that can begin treatment before the ambulance arrives. If your the person calling you don't care what gets there first. If they didn't respond you would complain so make up your mind.

Aw a poor farmin doing damage control. Who gives that officer the right to self dispatch? You are full of crap. The fire engine is not to fight fires and the engine rarely beats the ambulance there. Your definition of the person "calling" 911 has no merit on the Milford Street call. Do you think those medical trained personnel are more experienced than the medical personnel at the doctors office? You are nothing but a joke because I have seen them in action. They do nothing but stand around and look good with their far helmets on and their radio strapped to their big leather holsters. You people need to get a real job.
