Thanks to the Bad Boyz of Metro for having the backs of our over worked & under staffed EMTs. I think we all feel so much safer when a ladder truck pulls up when you feel sick.

You called us. We didn't call you. When all the ambulances are on other calls and the engine is busy that's what you get. The firefighters you criticize are cross trained as EMTs and Paramedics.

9:39 your right. But if you call for a tow truck that's what you want not UPS truck. So the point is Salisbury needs more EMTs and only a voluntary fire dpt

Most of them are already EMTs and a combination career and volunteer system works here. They're not going to change the system for you just because your uneducated in emergency services. How many volunteers are able to leave work today for any fire call ?

Why does the Fire truck have to go to these calls----so they can "up" their responses shown on paper ---- or what?!!!!
It appears an ambulance call would
be adequate---period ----from what's posted here. I do not understand this & as a Wicomico Cty tax payer want to know whose idea was it anyway to have the firetrucks respond to all these ---non fire threats????????????

Absolutely Unnecessary in my thinking & an extreme waste of our tax money!!!

So send a second ambulance, or the traffic control truck. We have that, you know.

Or, we could just buy all fire engines and carry patients to the hospital on the back bumpers.

Which would make the most sense?

Do we take the HAZMAT rig to all the traffic accidents to clean up the antifreeze spills?

OOPS! I think I just made these calls a 3 vehicle parade!

Well maybe the city should put all the paid firemen on day work for at least 1 month. The volunteers can respond to all the runs including ems until 7am when the career guy's shift starts. Maybe then the department can justify more career Firefighter/EMTs after the public complains about extended response times and units that failed to respond.

Well maybe the city should get rid of the paid firemen. Hire more EMTs because as we see every day that is where the work is. Don't get mad because you can't justify your job.
