Georgetown, DE- The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit stationed at Troop 4 have arrested an Ellendale man after a traffic stop yields three guns.

On Monday August 26th detectives were following up on an active investigation into a residential burglary located in the 20000 block of Gravel Hill Road in Georgetown when information was gathered that Tyrone J. Morris was a possible suspect. Later that afternoon, troopers located Morris driving a vehicle in the area of Lewes and he was subsequently stopped in the Comcast Cable parking lot. Upon making contact with Morris, he was found to be in possession of two small caliber handguns of which he is prohibited from possessing. He was also in possession of approximately .04 grams of heroin. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, jewelry, electronics, as well as a shotgun that was stolen from the residence on Gravel Hill Road.

Detectives obtained a search warrant on Morris’ residence located in the 500 block of Willow Street in Ellendale where they were able to recover more jewelry and electronics which were reported stolen in a burglary committed earlier that day in the 28000 block of Johnson Road in Millsboro.

Morris was transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown where he was formally charged with the above listed crimes. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to JTVCC on $65,400.00 cash bond.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into this and other burglaries in the area and more charges may be forthcoming.
