Wonder Won't Sing In Fla. After Zimmerman Verdict

NEW YORK (AP) -- Stevie Wonder says he won't perform in Florida and other states with a "stand your ground" law.

In a video posted on YouTube, the 63-year-old singer said at a concert in Quebec City, Canada, on Sunday "that until the 'stand your ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again."

Wonder added: "Wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

The "stand your ground" law allows people to use deadly force if they believe their life is in danger.

Stevie hasn't done anything meaningful in better than 30 years,,,,who cares where he plays.

And....are we supposed to care?

It's really strange that someone so talented can be so stupid on issues like this.

very easily said and done when you have body guards around you

Somebody better tell Stevie Wonder that the law is enacted in 30 states. But he is obviously blind to the fact.

Sounds like he's racist.

That leaves him 5-7 states he can play in if he keeps his asinine vow.

wish a lot of other 'performers' would say the same thing.

Bush'man said...

705.. there are many other performers saying the same thing.
Unfortunately they are elected and appointed administrative and bureaucratic officials...

that's his choice
he just needs to be prepared to accept any fallout from jilted fans

he should ask the Dixie chicks for advice on this

i wish he'd quit singing everywhere. can't stand the man. never have.
his music to me stinks.

Stand Your Ground had nothing to do with the Zimmerman case. Nothing. I wouldn't step foot within several miles of Wonder. The stench coming out of his mouth from all the BS he is eating by the shovelfuls is going to be putrid.

Good then no one has to look at that stupid hair that is out of date.

no clue no clue

I doubt there are many who cares if he ever sings anywhere

I guess he's thinking "I'll show them!" The reality is no one really gives a hoot. I'm sure very few people if nay in FL have said lately "oh I wish Stevie Wonder would play a concert here."

Too bad he can't read these comments. I wonder what his "Handlers" are telling him as they take a paycheck from his wallet every week...

Md needs this law so we won't have to put up with "Stevie..."
