Three Week Detour Between Mill Street And Park Avenue To Begin July 31st

***TRAFFIC ADVISORY***

STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION BEGINS NEXT
PHASE OF ISABELLA STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT

Three Week Detour between Mill Street and Park Avenue to Begin July 31st
(July 29, 2013) – As part of Salisbury Public Works ongoing effort to keep you informed of improvements within the City of Salisbury, the State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin the next phase of drainage improvement work in Salisbury with the 24-hour closure and detour of a one-block section of Isabella Street on Wednesday, July 31. All traffic on Isabella Street will be prohibited between Mill Street and Park Avenue. The round-the-clock detour will remain in effect for three weeks until Thursday, August 22, weather permitting.

The temporary road closure will allow the contractor to install both a new water main and new
storm drain along Isabella Street. Residents and business patrons will have access to Isabella and Mill streets through the following detour: westbound on Isabella Street to US 50 Business (East Salisbury Parkway) to Division Street and then return to Mill Street. Motorists traveling eastbound Isabella Street will take the same detour in the opposite direction.

SHA will use detour signs, cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.

This section of work is part of drainage improvements along streets in the Newtown
Neighborhood. The second phase of the project includes installing new drainage pipes along both sides of US 13 Business north of London Avenue. The entire project is scheduled for completion by fall 2014.
