According to police, 37-year-old Sammie Wallace grabbed a toddler from her mother’s shopping cart and held a knife to her throat. Police released video and 911 audio from the June 17 incident last week.
Believing that the child had been harmed by Wallace, a heroic police officer, Capt. David Huff, shot the man at point-blank range. The child was unharmed in the horrifying ordeal.

The cop will be charged with murder , he killed a black man.
Had that been you or me, we would be in jail on first degree murder charges. But, since he's a Heroic Cop, he'll walk home tonight.
He should walk home tonight because he is a hero. He steps into the trouble and solves situations. This zero that attacked the girl has no place in civilized society. Too bad there are not enough people who believe these parasites need to be put away forever. You probably think its not his fault that he ended up this way. Guess what? Innocent child was being harmed and cop took proper action. I wouldn't call him a hero, but he has done his job. Memo to all criminals - when you hold 2 year old baby hostage, you may get shot and you may die. So, don' t do it.
All you nay-sayers need to get a life. The cop took the appropriate action. Is he a hero, yes. He saved someone else's life when his life could have been endangered.

551am here. I'm not a naysayer, think the cop did the right thing, but if I was a George Zimmerman in Maryland... I would be in jail with charges.

I think the cop did a GREAT job. Walked right up to him, put the gun about 8 inches from his head and blew his brains out. Perfect. Beats emptying his gun at BOTH of them from 20 feet away and saying he's "sorry" for killing the innocent and unarmed hostage. Know what I'm sayin"? As far as 10:42's "his life could have been endangered", thats cop talk used to justify things that can't be justified, except by other cops. Ever hear the saying "he brought a knife to a gunfight"? I don't care if its Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan with knives, if I'm packing a 9mm, MY life is in NO danger.
