McCormick & Co. Inc. has closed on its $147 million purchase of Chinese bouillon maker Wuhan Asia-Pacific Condiments Co. Ltd.
The deal gives Sparks-based McCormick (NYSE: MKC) a bigger piece of the fast-growing Asian market. Wuhan makes DaQiao and ChuShiLe bouillon brands which are popular in central China.
The deal, first announced in August, is part of McCormick’s international expansion plans. The flavor giant also bought a spice company in Poland and launched a joint venture with an Indian maker of basmati rice.
