On Saturday night my Fiancé and I were out having a drink with some friends. My son, who was staying with my father called me and wanted me to bring him a ginger ale because he had an upset stomach. So I pulled up in front of my fathers house, ran in, and came back out within 5 minutes. When I came outside, a Salisbury City cop had his lights activated and rode past my car, then did a U-turn and came back. The officer said someone had called in a complaint because I was parked the wrong way.. I was like hmm ok, so within 5 minutes someone called and complained and here you are??? Didn't seem right to me... Then the officers asked my Fiancé and I to step out of the car because they could small Marijuana. We did not have any weed in the car.. I had just bought the car on Wednesday from a car dealer in DE. Maybe that's where the smell was coming from?? So the MALE officer's searched my Fiancé and I, then searched my car. I thought male officers could not search a female subject??? Anyway, they continued to harass him for about 15 minutes patting him down, telling him that they KNOW he has weed.. Then as he was talking to them, one of the officer's said " I saw you spit it out." So now they are searching in the GRASS with FLASHLIGHTS trying to find this transparent Marijuana. We did have an open container in the car that they questioned my fiancé about... but didn't ask me if I had been drinking. And I was the driver.....Seems to me they could care less if I was drinking and driving.. they were only worried about my fiancé because he is of a different skin color than those Caucasian police officers. And normally I don't play the race card. But in the certain circumstance I will. Why sit there and harass him, when I am the driver if the car with an open container in visible sight?? (BTW I do not condone drinking and driving and I was not drunk...) And when the police were finally done harassing my fiancé, I was like so someone called in and complained right? He was like, "No I saw you park there." I just laughed... It is a shame that a black man can not even sit in a car without being harassed by the SALISBURY CITY cops, and this is not the first time and I am SURE it will not be the last!

Its not racism its a product of our "environment". A majority of the crime around here is committed by black males therefor if a cops sees something remotely suspicious like a black male sitting in front of a house in a car parked the wrong way he has every reason to stop and check and see whats goin on. As for the search and harrasment its complete bs they have no right to do that. Happened to me a few years ago at royal farms on snowhill rd. They pointed guns to my head and told me I was a big time dope dealer. They searched the truck and didnt find anything. My girlfriend was pregnant at the time but they didn't care. Im sure they profiled me cuz I was black and my pregnant girlfriend was white. Its 2014 now. This needs to stop.

It is wrong for this it happened to my husband a couple weeks ago, he was across the street at the store the white guy that works there was outside dusting off the mats and they were talking to each other next thing they knew an unmarked cop car pulled up and put both in handcuffs and called for back up when it was over with there were 5 city police and two state. Of course a waste of time they found nothing on none of them.

Im white and few years ago i was speeding over by ERA and got pulled over. I was 24 ten and i had a good job and a nice car that i had left the windows don when it rained so it smelled musty the cop said he smelled weed and next thing you know theres 5 cops and a dog they searched my car and told me a dried up maple leave was pot and they could lock me up but they were gonna let me go. I was pissed then but know that im a little older i realized they were just doing their job. Point being that it happens to WHITE PEOPLE too. That being said if you always compare one race to another your the racist you should be more like this shouldnt happen to ANYONE and by ANY color cop. What is up with the third officer (Weiss) involved in the fatal police chase? He lied about being involved for several weeks while the investigation was under way and now after they find out that he was the driver of the mysterious third police car and was a witness to a fatal car chase they don't do anything to him? The officers of the other two police cars involved were suspended, why wasn't officer Weiss? And he lied by failing to come forward! Some integrity ya got there!

The police aren't just racist, but also likes to bully others to get money. I can say this since when I was driving they gave me a ticket when I stopped at a stop sign going to work while 3 people in front of me all Caucasian went without stopping and I got the ticket and the cop was Caucasian. I never knew that it was illegal to stop at a stop sign. Everyone knows that the police are only their to abuse their powers.
