International anti-hunger activists expect the Obama administration to propose major reforms to its food aid efforts in which the United States would donate cash instead of shipping U.S.-grown food to trouble spots around the world.
The White House declined to comment on Friday on its plans. But people who have heard the plans said the administration has discussed the strategy with interest groups and lawmakers and touted it as a way to save money while still keeping the United States the global leader in food aid.
Many anti-hunger groups back the new strategy, but other groups, including domestic producers who sell food to the program, oppose the change.

If we give cash there will no way it will help the hungry. If we give food there will be no way it will go to help the hungry. Just American taxpayers paying for the Democratic political machine. Please wake up people before it's too late.
I say keep our money and food in the United States. We need to quit bailing out foreign countries that burn our flag and hate us.

Jesus said to love our enemies. Too feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give shelter to the homeless, etc.
He also said we will always have the poor with us. I agree we have people in our own neighborhoods that need all those things. But our government gets no benefits from helping it's own citizens. But they do get benefits from helping other countries. They don't do it out of the goodness of their non-existent hearts. They is always a catch and a price to pay. That is but one of the reasons this country is hated so much.
The cash will be used for guns and drugs, 11:31, the exact reason we are hated! But, go ahead, give them cash; where are they going to buy food?
I suppose you Think the money you give the homeless beggars out there all goes to food and shelter, too!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
It's kind of like the bums on the corner. They say they're hungry but when you try to give them food they want money. What do you suppose they do with that money?
