A Maryland brothel ringleader and operator were convicted by a federal jury earlier today on sex trafficking charges following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Annapolis Police Department and the Easton Police Department.
A federal jury convicted German de Jesus Ventura, 35, a citizen of El Salvador unlawfully in the country residing in Capitol Heights, Md. of conspiring to transport and entice females to travel interstate for prostitution; transporting females for prostitution; enticing females to travel interstate for prostitution; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and possessing a gun in furtherance of sex trafficking. The jury also convicted co-defendant Kevin Garcia Fuertes, aka Kerlin Esquivel-Feuntes, 25, a citizen of Honduras unlawfully in the country residing in Annapolis, Md. and Richmond, Va., of the conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

This investigation and the trial cost the taxpayers almost $800,000.00…… For sex! Is it not time that the United States moved into the 21st. century and legalized the sex industry, regulate it, and tax it. Most modern countries have, our friends to the north did it in 2000, and they have saved millions of dollars, made millions off of taxes, lowered crime, lowered divorce, lowered drug use, freed up the court docket for more heinous crimes to be tried instead of plea bargained. Humans are going to have sex, women are going to sell their bodies for it to make money, and it is after all the oldest profession in the world. We have been trying to control the sex industry for thousands of years, and yet it is still going on, you can’t legislate morality.
Get those guys a MD drivers license, and a D voter registration card ASAP! We need a path to citizenship for these fine illegal...errrr, undocumented Dems.
Gerald, did you not read where it said "sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and possessing a gun in furtherance of sex trafficking". Therefore, he was trying to FORCE women into prostitution. While it is the oldest profession, there is a difference between willingly doing and being forced to do. Educate yourself on the crime of sex trafficking. It is not just a crime for 3rd world countries, it happens here.
Gerald "Forced"......is one of the key words here. Laws are being created to fight human trafficking. Traffickers are being put behind bars. People are being informed about trafficking. The public and Congress are pushing for more anti-human trafficking laws. Trafficking is wrong.
