ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- A former chief executive of a Maryland county near Washington, D.C., has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for misconduct in office, which included having another county employee empty his urinary catheter bag.
John Leopold, a former Anne Arundel county executive who has back and urinary problems, was led handcuffed from sentencing Thursday to a detention center.
The judge also ordered the 70-year-old Republican to 30 days of home detention after jail time and to pay a $100,000 fine.
