BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore hosting the Olympics in just over a decade? It’s a possibility. Baltimore may make a bid for the 2024 Games.
Gigi Barnett takes a closer look at our chances.
Baltimore is the hometown of the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps. But could the city host the 2024 Summer Games? It’s a question the US Olympic Committee wants answered and this week, it asked city leaders if they’re interested.
Some residents already are.
“Given how much the city can be excited about an event, I think it’s an awesome idea,” said Lily Leach.

Now that's a JOKE why don't they just ask Salisbury too???
The city will be bankrupt long before that.
Where will they hide all of the bums and drug addicts?
Why would anyone want to have the Olympics in a sewer like Baltimore?
I don't think the Eastern Shore can afford to fund this (in addition to all the other things they fund for Baltimore).
Guettobury.
I like how everyone here thinks the eastern shore is better than baltimore.
Arent you the same people who complain about the crime rates here? Complain about the lack of business opportunity here? Complain about the slums here?
Every single person who posts on this website has a very narrow mindset.
OMG-Can you imagine? It would be a nightmare. They would have to bring in SWAT Teams from all over the US to guard the Olympians, guests and spectators.
Those people in Baltimore couldn't even behave themselves long enough for the Raven's Parade after the Superbowl win. A fight broke out and someone got stabbed. Not sure if they were killed.
lol...What are these people smoking? What's next, Olympics in Cleveland? Reminds of the scene in "Dumb & Dumber"....So you're telling me there's a chance lol
There are thugs not even born yet that are licking their lips at the thought of all the potential victims the Olympic Games would bring. Out of town rubes and foreigners walking around the "City that Bleeds" with their pockets full of scratch. It would be like Christmas for a month straight. Crack for everybody!!!
I love all the comments but we haven't heard what president o'malley has to say yet.
You must be from baltimore
