The 3rd Friday artists will again fill the Powell Building with Fine Art displays, as well as plenty of handmade items and unique crafts.
AI&G Figures & Portraits Show
After you visit the Powell Building, be sure to stop by The Art Institute and Gallery opening reception of the Figures & Portraits Show from 5 - 7pm. The show will feature two separate exhibits, each focusing on figurative art and portraiture. The Main Gallery will hold a wide range of works from artists all over the Delmarva Peninsula, while the Foyer Gallery will highlight three local artists with varying approaches to the craft of portraiture; Ed Challenger, Jess Cross Davis and Leslie Belloso.
W.O.R.K. Open House
The W.O.R.K. Studio and Art Space will be holding an open house and "meet and greet" with the resident artists. W.O.R.K is located on the second floor of the Parker Place Building. Stop by and meet this group of young talented local artists who have decided to make their "art-home" downtown!
Season's Best Superbowl Party
At the West End of East Main Street, Seasons Best will be having a Countdown to the Superbowl Party with a chili cook-off! Their vendors will be cooking their secret recipes, and customers can vote for their favorites!
SWAC: The Art of Film
Also on the West end of East Main Street, head upstairs to SWAC, as they celebrate the "Art of Film" with showings of movies such as Man with the Iron Mask, Jane Eyre, and a Star is Born. They'll also be depicting the history of film through the silent short films of Chaplin, and classics like The Little Rascals, all time permitting.

This has got to be the most boring event ever on the downtown plaza. They should do something that interests all people, not just the art crowd. I've been a couple times and it has been extremely boring and small crowds.
This is put on by volunteers, I'm sure they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with $$$
1:12 you could volunteer to help or suggest better ideas, I'm sure they are willing to listen. It's easy to complain about what they don't offer.

I'm not 1:12 but I can relate to their point. Maybe 3rd Fri could be adjusted seasonally? A more flower/plant oriented event in the spring, July could be geared toward a Patriotic theme though after July 4th. Maybe a best Uncle Sam costume contest? October Halloween of course and maybe a craft area for kids to paint small pumpkins and a hay ride around downtown. Nov could do a craft area again and pinecone turkeys could be made by the kids. And of course Dec maybe something similar to what Pocomoke's been doing with their Old Fashioned Christmas event.
How bout a good ole 4th of July childrens parade where kids decorate wagons, bikes, etc. Have small lawn tractors pull decorated floats. Just up and down the plaza..then later something for the adults.
I really like all of 6:25's ideas.
