SNOW HILL -- Following a heated meeting between the State Highway Administration (SHA) and residents of Snow Hill last month, the Worcester County Commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to write a letter to the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) requesting that a traffic light be installed at the intersection of Routes 12 and 113, despite the site not meeting the requirements for a light.
Commissioner Virgil Shockley, who represents the Snow Hill district, briefed the rest of the commission this week, with the exception of Commissioner Jim Bunting who was absent, on the late December meeting between residents and the SHA.
“We had quite a few people in the room; quite a few angry people in the room, I should say, talking about J-turns,” said Shockley.

The first thing that needs to be done is the completion of the dual between Newark and Snow Hill. Then the J-turns will be in place and will work. Either the crossover of 113 for Public Landing or Stockton or both will have to be eliminated and instead turned into J-turns. If they decide instead to go with the traffic light, then there should only be one traffic light and the other crossover eliminated completely. People will acclimate themselves to whatever the outcome brings irregardless.
Could someone please tell me what a j turn is? i know what a u turn is but not a j.
irregardless.

Regardless of the fact that that isn't a word, you are mostly correct.
Improvements in drivers abilities and skills are also much needed along with patience.
And what's stopping people from making a right turn and then making a u-turn to get across the big bad highway?
A little out of their way? Inconvenience?
The same things that will happen with a j-turn?
Replacing driver skills with mechanical devices and special intersections.
Leave it like it is, save money and thin out the herd of unskilled drivers. Everyone benefits then.
wiki definition of: Super Street/J-Turn is also known as a restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT) and a J-turn is a type of road intersection that is a variation of the Michigan left. In this configuration, traffic on the minor road is not permitted to proceed straight across the major road or highway. Drivers wishing to turn left or go straight must turn right onto the major road, then, a short distance away, drive into a designated U-turn (or crossover) lane in the median. When traffic clears they complete the U-turn and then either go straight or make a right turn when they intersect the other half of the minor road.
In essence, it's a separate left side road (running parallel with the main road), but used ONLY for making U-turns after the oncoming traffic clears
