Two young animals are now calling the Maryland Zoo their new home.
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is welcoming 2-year-old African lioness, Badu, and 2-year-old giraffe, Kesi.
Zoo officials both animals were transferred to Baltimore after the Giraffe and Lion Species Survival Plans recommended that the move would maximize genetic diversity in breeding. Additionally, the move will ensure the long-term survival of each animal's population and health according to officials.
