Bob Evans Was Down On The Farm And Not Open For Business

Hundreds of angry customers were fired up after making Thanksgiving dinner reservations at the Bob Evans restaurant in Salisbury. Lines started forming and hundreds of people gathered in the parking lot only to learn they just weren't going to open their doors at all.

Perhaps they hung that turkey special sign, (above) to let people know they too are going to start closing their doors and cutting back full time employees to fight back at Obamacare.

Nevertheless, what Bob Evans did was uncalled for and deserves to be Blogged.

I went to Mr Paul's Legacy and had the best Thanksgiving meal ever!!!!
Mr Paul greeted everyone who came to his Restaurant.
Can't get much better than that!
You help a local business and not a Corporation!

That was a poor business decision. However I do expect to see much more of this as most employers will cut their workers back to 29 hours to stay under the Obamacare of 30 hours as full time employees.

The people lined up already have their medicare what do they care if anyone else has medical insurance.

Lovely...what if anything does this have to with Obamacare?

The new manager there is an idiot.
This restaurant was finally getting back to being what it should be, then they fired the guy who straightened it out (while he was on medical leave) and brought in this bozo.
Salisbury has become one of the worst restaurants in the chain. Predictably bad every time.
My guess is the district manager is to blame. He's the one making the decisions about who runs the place.
There are some good employees there, but what can they do with poor management?

We used to go to another Bob Evans before moving here 20 plus years ago and we loved it. When they opened the one in Salisbury we were excited....that was until we tried it. It was no where near as good as the one we used to go to. We tried a few years later and again still not good. We haven't been back in there since.

We like Mister Paul's Legacy...the food, the wait staff and Mr. Paul. We always feel welcome there. Almost like going home.

(Rick and Jay aren't bad either.)

I used to like Shoney's.Why do all good things have to end?

fight back against obama care? well, newsflash, obama will still be president for the next four years whether they close up shop or not. how do you know that it wasn't the employees fault for just deciding not to show up and work on a holiday that should be spent at home with their loved ones. whatever the reason , bob evans in salisbury sucks and they would be doing us all a favor if they closed up and made room for another better run restaurant to take their place.

I'm pretty sure that Bob Evans (ew) doesn't take reservations.

I feel for them, though. I ordered the Food Lion heat-n-serve dinner. When my husband picked it up, it was FROZEN. We ended up eating pizza. Oh well.

4:51-It was also a family tradition for our family as well, but it was Chef Fred's until we went last year.I'm sure that's what they meant.

Bob Evans (SLOB EVENS TO MY FAMILY)is nothing but a microwave heat and eat slop joint. We stopped going there several years ago after the third bad visit in a row. We will NEVER set foot in there again and we were in that place quite a few times. It's a shame Salisbury doesn't have better than this!

The Legacy is the new "Johnny and Sammy's", it is where we hang now, always a friendly place and great food!

That's some bs. I work at Bob Evans, geez people cant the employees have a holiday off to spend with there family. also Bob Evans already offers heath care options to full and part time employees, don't believe me just go look at their website

Bob Evans isn't even open in thanksgiving. And they don't take reservations. There's going to be a 25 hour cap for all employees, and they are only keeping maybe 8 full time.employees. bobs is just going to get worse since they will hire anyone who doesn't speak English or can read. Bobs is a horrible company to work for, and when you come to eat there you are helping the poor servers who work there, not just the corp. And it is highly unlikely that all the employees didn't show up, because it was a holiday.
