In what is believed to be the first instance of a municipality suing the federal government on behalf of a medical marijuana dispensary, the city of Oakland has gone to court to ask the feds to please stop trying to close down the largest such dispensary in the country.

This is a move by feds to dismantle current retail to redistribute it with favorite sons, i.e. big pharma. There will be more bureaucracy, more taxes, more corporate profits for the already rich.
The same will happen when decriminalization comes, but to big tobacco and alcohol.
