10:16, agreed. The Rx? Free market. These teacher's wouldn't be crying about anything if they had to fight for their jobs like every other non-union employee. The competition puts the best teachers in the classroom but when free market is diluted by "entitlement" this is the crap we get. Teachers crying because it's not good enough at the expense of the student's education.

From personal experience, teachers can be a defining influence upon those they are teaching. Good or bad. Therefore this job should be done by those who are passionate enough to be paid pork and beans.

How about a public review for all Chicago teachers before they're "given" anything?

Pretty sure that wouldn't go over too well...
