Ocean City Megabar Pulls in Crowds, Big Bucks

The creator of this sprawling resort, Leighton Moore, grew up in Ocean City and learned about the hospitality business from his parents, who ran a hotel just a block from where Seacrets now rises from the sand.

By his own admission, Moore wasn't the greatest student. He got his GED when he was 16 and then hopped on a plane to Jamaica with a friend. The two arrived in Montego Bay with hardly any money and took a bus to Negril.

"And I fell in love," said Moore, now 60.

A true visionary.
Off topic a bit but I would like to recognize another OC visonary who is currently going to challenge Mayor Meehan in the upcoming election and I would also like to use this platform to scold Councilwoman Knight for totally and without a doubt misquoting Nick Campagnoli in today's DT's. If anyone is guilty of using a "diversion tactic" it is Knight. What Campagnoli said in the DT's was that "as mayor, he'd work with council members Joe Hall, Jim Hall, Margaret Pillas and Brent Ashley.
Somewhere in Knight's head she imagined the word "only" in his quote and commented "I love the diversion tactic that Mr Campagnoli espounses. He is ONLY (my emphasis) going to work with the majority.
It's like she's taken a page out of Wasserman Schultz book and is misquoting and not representing accurately and truthfully what was actually said. One can question if something as simple as a newpaper article is incomprehensible to her, how can she understand complicated governmental issues?

Wow, he stole ideas that worked down in the islands and packaged it for his bar. Whoopty do. Yeah, he's been incredibly successful but completely unoriginal.
