Get Handicapped Parking With A Fake Doctor’s Note, Maybe Go To Prison
Let’s say that you commute from a relatively rural area, and work in a dense urban environment where there’s little parking to be found. Driving is the best way to get to your office, but taking a shuttle from a distant off-site garage or fighting for street parking is such a hassle. What do you do? If you’re a certain information technology worker for the state of New York, you forge a note from your doctor granting you a handicapped parking space, then assume that you’ll never be caught. Now, instead of a luxurious parking space right near his office, he’s in jail, and could face up to four years in prison.

Excellent! Hope they catch more.
Good! And do some public service, like carrying groceries at WalMart for some real handicapped. It'll be a great opportunity to meet more handicap scammers like himself, too.
Most handycapped parking users are fake also.

And you know this how?
Just sit at the 21802 post office for an hour and watch the handicap area. I estimate about 40% are displaying a permit issued to a relative/friend who is NOT in the vehicle and about 15% more who do not even have a permit.. I would think that given the stiff fines for violations and the push for tax income, this is an excellent untapped resource of >$1.000 per day.
MVA issues the HC tag or display card ALONG WITH an identification card similar to a license. The user of a HC facility must have this id card in his possession the same as a driver must have his license. Simple matter for the officer to ask to see this id.
