The July figures for the Casino at Ocean Downs were released this
week, revealing the greatest month ever in the nearly two-year history
of the gaming facility along Route 589 just south of Ocean Pines.
While lawmakers were preparing to convene for a special session on
the future of casino gambling in Maryland this week, Video Lottery
Commission officials on Tuesday released the July figures for the three
operating casinos in the state, including Ocean Downs. The Casino at
Ocean Downs in July collected $5.75 million in gross revenue in July,
the single busiest month in the history of the facility.

So, why is O'malley continuing to RAISE taxes on working families to give it away to the listless, lazy entitlement crowd?
Wow! This is GREAT news. The Governor should be announcing tax cuts for us any day now.
We need jobs, not Casinos!
Like a drug addiction, I have personally seen what a gambling addiction do to a family. I once had a friend who had it all. A great house, a good job and a nice family. I saw him loose all three due to gambling in Atlantic City. I maxed out my credit cards back in the eighty's and learned the hard way. Took me almost ten years to pay it all back. I haven't been back since!
You can say all you want, but nothing good can come from a state that depends on gambling as their main revenue source!
But wait until the winter when they lose money.
Anon 9:01 some of us gamble for leasure and have fun in the process. Keep the gambling money in MD.
How handy is this report opened just as Omalley's "Special Session" on gambling table games conveiniently convenes!
I say, "Everything's fine, let's all go home!
Folks,
That a gross figure, what is the net profit? Same place that asked the state to pay their overhead costs in 2012 first quarter? Same size casino in Delaware, Florida, or Oklahoma brings in $10mil a weekend. OMalley the great fuzzy math teacher! What a maroon
