A few years ago I took the time to take photos of the old Theater on Main Street coming down. Today I weathered the rain to capture the final back wall coming down on the south side of the old Feldman's building.
I wanted to capture this so people could see just how nice it will eventually look once the wall was down and you could see the River. You'll only see these images on Salisbury News as no one else seems interested enough in the history of Salisbury.

I haven't been keeping up with this news, so I am wondering are they also taking the taller building down?

The three story portion will remain. The additions to the sides AND the back on Mill Strteet will all come down.
The new owners are hopeful the City will build a new River Walk along the River and Mill Street.
Just wait until you see what they plan on doing. It will be amazing. There's rumor of a second floor restaurant with windows facing Brew River.
The owners are completely supportive of RETAIL on the first floor, if the market will allow. It's exciting.
Glad to see it go. That build had an terrible smell.

Joe, Thank you so much for the photos and your awesome support of Salisbury's downtown. I am very interested in Salisbury's history. I wish that all of the historical downtown buildings could get the love and care that you obviously and so nicely put into your building. We need retail downtown to bring it back to life. I hope this is the start of more things to come. An open street...truly open street for traffic would be a big help to the downtown as well. At times it is just too scary down there for anyone to venture when you know that no cars or pedestrians will be near or coming by after the stores and businesses are closed for the day.
I remember back in the 90s when feldmans had that wall refinished and the letters cut in. They painted it once and the rain came to quick and caused it to run and one more repaint is what you saw until today.
There goes my FREE parking!
This will be no more successful than when they tore down that armpit theater on Main Street or the old mall.
Salisbury is a "has been" thanks to buffoons like the "Greater Salisbury Committee" who backed Barrie Tilghman and Pollitt.
