Red-light Cameras Deactivated in Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Md. - At one intersection in Westminster where there was a red-light camera there were more rear-end collisions than red-light collisions.

So few drivers were running red lights and getting tickets that the city is losing money.

In March in 2010, the city of Westminster installed five red-light cameras.

The only red-light camera in Westminster that's still up and running is at Route 97 and Nursery Road. Police said it's still needed there.
