Over the past couple of years many Downtown residents and business people have enjoyed the additional free parking on the left side of Feldman's. Well, it's over.
Palmer Gillis is moving forward with his newest project. He will tear down the left and right side of the three story building all the way back to the river. The three story original portion of the building will remain and he will revitalize that for his own Office as well as other Office suits.
Even the front side, (if you want to call it that) that was added years later near the 5 way stop will get torn down to make way for a river walk.
It's an aggressive move and one that is certainly welcomed by me. The old Ethan Allen store will remain standing and is still for sale. Why anyone would want it is beyond me. There's no parking and quite frankly they want way too much money for it.
I tried purchasing it about two years ago and even Palmer turned down buying it because they just wanted too much money.
Nevertheless, my hat is tipped to Palmer Gillis. I'm sure we will all look forward to it when they complete the project. Two thumbs up for a NON section 8 project in Downtown Salisbury.

My thanks to anyone who would risk investment to make our downtown a destination place instead of another low income neighborhood that can easily be built somewhere else

shame it closed. downtown used to be such a nice place to go. of course that was the 1960's

1:16 pm don't be a fool. It will cost the taxpayers. He was the one trying to steal the old firehouse and the waterfront property next to it. Jim Liarton and Palmer are in bed together. Palmer will be the beneficiary of Liartons sale of surplus city parking lots.
I thought Ire-Ton said the council ruined this, too.

Thank god for Palmer and his effort for downtown. The city can't get anything done with it. Anybody who has tried to get things done in the downtown gets shut down by our disfunctional city government.
1:59 The purchase price for the Feldmans property was 5% of the proposed price that was submitted for the Fire House.THe porposal submitted was intended to be a non profit to benefit Hotel Resturant students and if LORA had any brains or an open mind to benefit them ( Local Owners Resturant Associaton). When someone is able to come up with better ideas please submit them to this lame City Council to be shot down in their inablilty to do any thing or care about Downtown Salisbury. If you do not know facts 1:59 then I suggest that you go gather some. Otherwise quit being poison for this Community
