The Department of Justice is investigating another state over controversial Voter Suppression ID laws that will end up kicking millions of Democratic voters off the rolls. This time it's Pennsylvania, with the DOJ launching a formal investigation into whether the state's new Voter Suppression ID law discriminates against minorities. The DOJ has already filed suit against Texas and South Carolina over their respective Voter Suppression ID laws – but the investigation into Pennsylvania marks the first time the DOJ has targeted a state not covered under the Civil Rights Act, which protects minorities living in states with a history of racial discrimination. The state's VoterSuppression ID law is also being challenged within Pennsylvania, as a number of plaintiffs led by 93-year-old Viviette Applewhite, who will be unable to obtain the necessary identification to vote, are suing the state to have the law repealed. Pennsylvania is the perfect example of why these Voter Suppression ID laws are not about curbing voter fraud, which virtually doesn't exist, but actually about helping Republicans win in November. As Pennsylvania's Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Turzai, told a group of fellow Republicans in June, "Voter ID...is going to allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania."

We should have voter ID in every State that's just plain common sense ,you need ID to buy a gun whats the difference for voting ,in 08 illegal and unregistered people voted for Obama and look at the result Obama is killing the whole country
We SHOULD have voter ID in EVERY state. It's antiquated that we do not and still rely on the honor system with voting.
Question? Why is the 93 year old lady unable to obtain an ID? If she needs a ride to DMV or wherever to get one I'll pay for the cab.
I like how they capaitalize Voter Suppression ID like it's the actual name of a bill, and that is the stated intent of the legislation.
I also like how they state that voter fraud "virtually doesn't exist." When you have precints reporting 100% turnout, failure by officials to prosecute videotaped voter intimidation, and numerous reports of fraud going investigated entirely, you can't make that kind of claim.
And a 93 year old woman can't obtain an ID 3 months before the election? C'mon. There's plenty of time for her to find a way. Heck - if she has the time and the means to go to court or her lawyer's office, she can make it to the DMV to get ID.
Maybe the news paper in the area can ask somebody to give her a ride?
When I'm 93, and can't figure out how to obtain an I.D. for myself, why should I be voting in the first place? I am not cognizant enough to handle a simple chore like this, and yet you want me to pick YOUR next President, as he will not likely be MY next President. Oh, yes, he will be my Grandkid's President, but who am I to choose for you?
