Maryland transportation officials are making some changes to when
severe weather could force them to close some of the state's larger
bridges.
The Maryland Transportation Authority which runs the Bay Bridge, the
Key Bridge, and Tydings Memorial Bridge and Harry Nice Bridge has now
added a policy to deal with wind gusts.
Cheryl Sparks, Director of Communication for the MdTA, tells WBAL
Radio that the agency has had a policy in place to deal with sustained
winds but not for wind gusts.
