Troopers Make Drug Arrest On Traffic Stop Near Milford


Location: Coastal Highway (SR1) northbound at Argos Corner Road, Milford, DE

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday June 13, 2012 at approximately 7:05 p.m.

Arraigned at JP3 and committed to SCI on $4,750.00 secured bond.

Milford, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Milford man for drug possession after he was stopped for speeding.

Troopers on assignment for the Office of Highway Safety, Federal Aggressive Driving Campaign, were patrolling the area of SR1 and Truitt Road yesterday evening, when a motorcycle was observed on radar traveling above the posted speed limit. Troopers were able to stop the Kawasaki motorcycle in the area of SR1 northbound at Argos Corner Road and make contact with the operator, William S. Robbins, 36, of Milford. Robbins, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and could not provide any identification, was taken into custody. A back pack that Robbins was in possession of contained over 2.7 grams of Heroin, 8 Clonazepam pills, 5.5 Diazepam pills, 64 syringes, and other drug paraphernalia. A computer inquiry into Robbins license yielded a capias out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.

Robbins was transported back to Troop 7 where he was arrested on the above listed charges. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,750.00 secured bond.
