Fruitland Police Department Press Releases 6-15-12

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday May29, 2012 @ 1656 hours
INCIDENT: Strong Armed Robbery

DISPOSITION:

SYNOPSIS: On the above date and time, Fruitland Police received a 911 call for an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had assaulted his girlfriend and 2 others, broke windows out of her vehicle and forcibly removed U.S. currency from her possession. The suspect fled the area and was not located that day. Fruitland Police obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest and he later surrendered to police in Accomack County. On June 13, 2012 Fruitland Police travelled to Accomack County and transported the suspect back to Wicomico County where he was served with the arrest warrant and released to Central Booking. The suspect was held on $250,000.00 bond.

DISPOSITION:
Released to custody of Central Booking at WCDC

SYNOPSIS: On the above date and time, Fruitland Police were contacted and advised that the above named suspect, who was being sought regarding an ongoing theft scheme, was inside of the Fruitland Wal-Mart . Officers set up surveillance and Wal-Mart Loss Prevention was alerted. The suspect was observed to exit the store with more than $170.00 worth of Wal-Mart property, without making any attempt at payment. The suspect was placed under arrest as he attempted to leave the area in a van that was waiting in the parking lot. The suspect was searched incident to arrest and was found to be in possession of a suspected Crack Cocaine smoking device containing suspected Cocaine residue. The suspect was transported to Central Booking without further incident.

INCIDENT: Trespassing / Disorderly Conduct
LOCATION: Ogle Avenue

PERSON CHARGED: Yura R. Hagens (Age 27)
ADDRESS: Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Trespassing
Disorderly Conduct
Disturbing the Peace
Fail to Obey a Lawful Order

DISPOSITION:
Released to custody of Central Booking at WCDC

SYNOPSIS: On the above date and time, Fruitland Police were dispatched to a house on Ogle Avenue for a male who was at the resident, uninvited and who refused to leave. Upon arrival, officers observed the above named suspect yelling at residents and who refused to leave after being asked to do so by the residents and Police. The suspect continued to shout profanities and was placed under arrest. The suspect was transported to Central Booking without further incident.
