Going into night two of the regional Junior Olympics held in Chesapeake, Ohio, two Main Street Gym boxer have advanced to fight for championships on Saturday evening’s card. On Friday night Corey Moore dropped a very close decision in the 15-16 106 lb division. "He looked very slick in the ring and his defensive movement was pleased the Ohio crowd", said Coach Hal Chernoff,” He was doing some very good things but needed to step up his offensive just a little in terms of punch output. Corey like to play a real chess game in the ring, but sometimes the clock can run out on you if you are waiting too much. He landed good solid punches, but in the amateurs a point is a point and if you do not land enough punches in terms of numbers rather than power or sharpness, it still results in a loss. It was a great experience for Corey his performance did him proud, while at the same time learning something for the future”.
Going into Saturday night Kobe Moore 11yrs 80lb div. will compete for a gold medal and Rudy Calixto will also compete for gold.
Evan Calixto will also fight Saturday night in the 13-14 year 106 division.
