During the recent outpouring of "eww, that's gross" over pink slime, Americans had a collective freakout over ammonia-treated beef. But hey, why not expand the revulsion with this tasty tidbit: Foods including cheese, baked goods and chocolate products are also involved with ammonia.

I don't think people said "ewww that's gross" I think it was more along the lines "My food has what in it?!". I personal think if I'm buying food I have the right to know whats in it. Other products having ammonia does not make it any less of problem.
I said before that this "pink slime" story was a hit piece against the beef industry by ABC news with the help of PETA.
"Pink slime" is just less tender cuts of the beef that are ground up real fine.
It is all beef!
I hope the beef industry sues ABC news for the damage they have caused.
""Pink slime" is just less tender cuts of the beef that are ground up real fine."
Pink Slime is a "beef based" food additive, which is heated, processed and treated.
If you think it's okay that this was kept hidden from consumers than that's your prerogative, 7:23.
Some of us though would like to know what exactly is in the food we consume.

Beef based food additive?
It is cuts of beef that are ground up fine. There is nothing artifical about it. IT IS BEEF!
First of all it is not beef. Beef is flesh. Pink Slime is ground up connective tissue which is not easily digested by humans. Probably why everybody and their brother has irritable bowel syndrone and other digestive abnormalities these days.
It is also treated with ammonia so IT IS NOT BEEF but ground up connective tissue infused with ammonia. The ammonia just doesn't disappear into thin air.
12:24, The flavor of pink slime is chemically altered so to say there is nothing artifical about it is incorrect.
