COUNCILWOMAN SAMPLE-HUGHES SCHEDULES DISTRICT ONE CITIZENS’ FORUM FOR MAY 2ND

Wicomico County Councilwoman Sheree Sample-Hughes will hold the next District One Citizen’s Forum meeting on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Victoria Park at Sassafras Meadows Community Center.

The program will focus on the anticipated local effects of this year’s General Assembly session, public safety, the upcoming Fiscal Year 2013 budget, and pertinent county council matters.

Councilwoman Sample-Hughes will be joined by Delegate Rudy Cane, Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis and Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt.

Wicomico County District One includes Delmar, Hebron, San Domingo, Salisbury-West Side and Mardela Springs. Mrs. Sample-Hughes said the over-all theme of the forums is “Creating Community Connections.” She commented that the purpose of the forums is to provide citizens with an opportunity to speak face-to-face with their elected officials. She further noted that this is the continuation of the fulfillment of her campaign promise to hold quarterly meetings throughout District One.

Mrs. Sample-Hughes has been hosting these forums since she was elected in 2006. Sample-Hughes commented, “I encourage as many of my constituents who possibly can to join us for this important meeting.”
