What's the story on Republican Allan Kittleman for voting yes?

This is all behind us now. Our Eastern Shore senators need to now force it upon their fellow law makers to once and for all -GET TO TO BUSINESS OF US-what effects ALL of US and not just a select few!
No new taxes or fees! Find other ways to balance the budget! Look to Gov Chritie of NJ and follow his lead and stop supporting this grandstander showoff, do nothing constuctive or meaningful o'malley.
Quit acting like politicians and start acting like real statesmen!

Mathias should be ashamed, his grandchildren certainly will be that he was such a coward. Wrong side of history.

Why do you call Mathias a coward,
9:14? A lawmaker who sticks to and votes on their convictions as opposed to voting party lines can by no stretch of a reasonable person's imagination be labeled a "coward."

Besides if and when Sen Mathias has grandchildren, this topic will be the least of their worries at the rate the state is headed-you know jobs, defict, etc.

Mathias is an intelligent, decent man who knows a yes vote is right but he is afraid of the narrow minded people on the shore.

"narrow minded" huh? I wonder if I'm "narrow minded" because I have since changed my mind. Whereas before I hadn't a problem with homosexuality and being of the opinion of to each his own. Now I'm of the opinion that maybe they are a bunch of freaks and weirdos?

"Same Sex Marriage"-it just sounds so unsophisticated.

I wonder how many of the ones that voted for it are either gay, or have gay family members? I can't see how anyone can say it is right. It is really disgusting that these people can't balance a budget but can waste their time on this sickening crap.

Guess we can all hope, that maybe, just maybe, this new minority will be the ones to get hit with new taxes?
Give them what they asked for, but of course, they're special, so I don't see it happening.

10:58 might have a point. I was listening in a few weeks ago on a discussion some high school age girls were having on this. They were of the opinion that the passage of same sex marriage in MD would set back homosexuals and have people form bad opinions of them they otherwise may not have had.
This coming from girls who have never had any kind of organized religion in their lives and are quite liberal in their thinking.

I've not had much of an opinion on the gay community and feel it's their business also.
I do feel as though they were used by O'Malley though as yes, a diversion from what is really important to the voters of the state. And yes, I feel that now some may have an unfavorable opinion of gays which they didn't before have.
I also think O'malley has done a hugh disservice by dividing people even more apart.

Mayor Ireton needs to keep his mouth shout. A catholic man who goes to church and even taught at the school has the nerve to back this. He needs to rethink his comments before he speaks on television. Keep it to yourself or just say no comment.

Exactly 1:12 because he is not going to change any minds. Those against it will be always against it and as is stated above some who actually had no opinion now feel freaked out by it all.
I am not a religious person and only go to church for funerals but I think it's weird for same sex people to even consider the notion of getting married. It grosses me out quite frankly.
