Patricia A. Cook Dies In Culpeper Police Officer Involved Shooting In VA

CULPEPER, Va. (WUSA) -- An eyewitness to a fatal police shooting in Culpeper, Virginia is contradicting the State Police version of the story.

Kris Buchele says he saw a Culpeper Town Police officer shoot 54-year-old Patricia Cook to death in the Epiphany Catholic School parking lot at around 10 a.m. Thursday, February 9.

Buchele is a carpenter who was working on the house next door. He says he heard loud arguing outside and looked through a window where he had a clear view of the school parking lot. Cook was in her Jeep Wrangler .

That's it. It's time to start shooting back.

A 54 year old woman? seriously? Like the cop didn't have a description of the woman and vehicle and tag number. had no way to call for back up and prevent the situation from escalating to a homocide? This is just terrible! I am sure the cop was so scared from the imminent threat she presented to his life he just wet himself.
I just want all you leo's out there to know one thing and please don't think I'm not capable. As a former marine, anyone of you ever harm any of my children or my wife, whether or not you still have a job after something like this will be the least of your worries. You family will suffer and know the same feelings and grief mine does! and prison wont be an option for me! everyone needs to look up g gondon liddy's famous quote in dealing with out of control cops!
Then be prepared!
and before all you napoleans start telling me how much I'll need you someday, well let's take a look at that. I'm 55 yo. and haven't needed you yet. I think I'll be fine for another 55 God willing! That's as long as I don't get pulled over by some rogue cop!

Why would a 'reasonable' police officer not call for backup and give chase, rather than shoot an unarmed woman 6 times in her own vehicle? Drivers usually hand over their ID through their car windows so why was his arm even in her car? Thank God there was an eyewitness who adamantly contra- dicts the MSP account. I think the officer was having a bad day when he over reacted, and then he lied to cover his own a--, which is a frequent occurence among our 'finest'

The husband doesn't seem too upset? Very calm about the situation!

All these Charles Bronson and Clint Eastwood wannabees. Bronson and Eastwood were class acts. At least they had principles.

It is not MSP. it was the Virginia State Police.

I was wondering the same thing.

Please don't jump to conclusions. There is more to this story than meets the eye. There is always 3 sides of the story.

Why was she at the Catholic Church when she was Methodist? I seriously don't think she was looking for a job.

Why isn't the husband upset?

Why didn't she obey a lawful order?

Do you really think the witness looks credible?

12:26PM,

I stand corrected.

12:58PM,
What indicates to you that the husband is not upset. Everyone grieves differently.

What does a credible witness look like?

How is it known that she did not obey a lawful order?

Could there have been another relationship between the officer and the victim?

So many street lawyers!

Ah ha...The old "we don't know the whole story" gig....an unarmed 54 year old woman takes six rounds in a situation where no back up was apparently needed or called for....and if THAT isn't enough, lets start disparaging the witness. Another execution. He HAD to shoot her. He wasn't man enought to handle a 54 year old woman by himself. She might have pulled a fingernail file out on him. Ya never know....Anyone want to bet that the cop is completely exonerated and back on duty soon? And what does her religion have to do with where she was parked? Is THAT cop logic? Like I'm not allowed or supposed to be be in the Wal-mart parking lot because I have a Food Lion MVP card? What???? 10:32 and 11:27 are starting to get the idea....and so are millions of others....I'm sensing a growing hostility over the muurders, beatings, robberies, guns and drug running, ticket fixing for the rich and connected, rapes, and executions of citizens by the people who can't stop telling us how much they "protect and serve"....I think the cops need a different motto.

12:58 is obviously blue and a fan of the "comply or die" psychotic episodes these gunman have assuming there was a lawful order.
Prove the complaint, provide the 911 call, and the dashcam video. Doubtful huh.
This is just murder, period. Cold blooded murder of a woman sitting in a church school parking lot trying not to be HARASSED by a Psychopath with a gun.
Citizens of Culpeper should unite and serve swift justice here with the same malice and prejudice as the law.

Doesnt matter you dont have to fire on a person 6 times in their own vehicle... I used to think i needed a weapon to protect myself from ghetto thugs now it looks like ill be using it to protect myself from the police too... wanna try me and find out youll have to shoot me or someone will have their head split open. The gestapo's have to be stopped

Hmmm...bet the officer didn't think there was anyone watching...a shame the painter didn't have video....certainly is appalling that we need to video our every day lives to protect ourselves from our governments and their minions.

Tennessee v. Garner comes to mind. The witness says that the officer fired one shot and the car took off. As it drove away, the officer fired 5 more shots. Definitely something wrong here. I think a DOJ investigation is needed.

It's time everyone carries, permit or not,

That's what I've been saying. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

And even if you're illegal, you will be alive to show up in court.

It seems to me there is more to this story. The cop could have been her lover and didn't like it when she tried to dump him. So he says if I can't have you nobody can. As far as the husband he might have known she was having an affair. Or the cop could have been his best friend and they are splitting the insurance money. We may never know the real story here.
