After increase last month, bridge traffic dips 2 percent
New, higher tolls on the Bay Bridge netted the state about $739,000 more last month than during the same month in 2010, according to preliminary statistics released by the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Just a 25% tax increase by the democrats.
The toll goes up 37.5%, revenue only goes up 25%. Textbook demand destruction.
For those of us that do not have an alternate path - we had to suck-it-up. I'm surprised it didn't drop more than that.....

Interesting. Coming up on a full year of slots (Ocean City), new tolls at several MD bridges/tunnel - remedial math says there is additional $$$$$ in the kitty...hmmmmm..

The only Democrat with any sense in Annapolis seems to be Peter Franchot, comptroller. I would like to see how the extra revenue is going to be spent. Most likely, Montgomery County will see the most benefit. I doubt if the Eastern Shore "stepchild" will see any of that extra money.
What really gets me upset is the commuter discount.. Their cars are doing just as much wear and tear on the bridge as mine and they get a discount ? Why shouldn't they pay the same as me?
Bridge traffic always falls off this time of year. The increase will not have any real effect on the number of commuters. It is still a bargain, considering it costs more now to paint the bridge than it did to build it. 1:51, what alternate path? To compare apples to apples, look at a year of ADT and see if there is a difference. My bet is 5% at the most. That will be due to daily commuters organizing car pools.
Wouldn't hurt my feelings to see the bridge fall into the bay, unoccupied of course.
The increase was totally unjustified, they only made $10,000,000.00 in profit last year!
yeah that is some toll to get over a bridge that spills out on to an old two lane highway that now exit bypasses all the communities that seek to prosper from the traffic
we should go back to rail service to all the shore points and local public transportation for all the tourists
it doesn't matter what the voter wants, the legislators do what they wish.
