Critics warn bill empowers president to lock up citizens, throw away key
Buried within an 1,844-page bill currently sitting on Barack Obama's desk awaiting his signature is text that many critics are warning could give the president legal authority to send Americans to jail without charges, without trial, without end.
Both the U.S. House and Senate have passed the National Defense Authorization Act, a sweeping piece of legislation that affects dozens of aspects of foreign and military policy, but that was designed primarily to give the military – and not civilian courts – the clear authority for prosecuting and jailing terrorists.
But voices from across the political spectrum are concerned that the bill opens the door for the military – led by the president as commander in chief – to indefinitely detain American citizens, even within the U.S.

This is totally unconstitutional. It is Obama's way of gaining more control as he is a control freak. He will first send the military and the police to take all of our guns because law abiding citizens with guns and ammo are going to be suspected terrorists. An they already know who has them because they have been registering our guns as we buy them for years. An if you refuse to give up your guns you will be arrested as a suspected terrorist and locked up and he will throw away the key. No charges filed against you and no trials, just locked up for life, Then he will go after the Christians because our beliefs are
considered radical because we believe the bible. So then he will then be able to lock up anyone that disagrees with his way of thinking because we are to stupid to think for ourselves. So our great country becomes like the communist countries we fought in wars to keep our nation free. And the whole time the enemy was not a foreign enemy it was our own goverment led by communist and marxist like our President Obama.
I will move out of this country if these "defense" laws are passed in 2012 or 2013. I am really starting to believe the 9/11 conspiracy theorists, it seems that this all stems from that experience. We will be the next USSR unless the citizens stand up to this government like oh say the 99% who have been bashed by the government as well as the public for doing what they believe is right.
The people like Minnesota's past senator Jesse Ventura and their conspiracy theories are starting to make more sense every day. He has a video of many of the new prisons being built within the United States and no one wants to talk about the barbed wire on top of the fence facing in, to keep someone from getting out, but any released comment states they're being built to protect us. I'm pretty sure that would have been Hitlers pitch to the masses also. The big money of the world want only the very cream of the rich controlling every aspect of the serves (you and I). No where to go, because they expect to dominate the world with money! Don't be fooled by the "we're gonna protect you" message, because little by little they're getting their way. Every senator that just voted for this martial law bill is wealthy and a traitor to all Americans. Delaware's Coons and Carper voted for it. Ben Carden did not.
