APNewsBreak: EPA Theorizes Fracking-Pollution Link

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Thursday for the first time that fracking - a controversial method of improving the productivity of oil and gas wells - may be to blame for causing groundwater pollution.

The draft finding could have significant implications while states try to determine how to regulate the process. Environmentalists characterized the report as a significant development though it met immediate criticism from the oil and gas industry and a U.S. senator.

More lies and junk science from the EPA to try and stop the US from recovering our own resources.
The fracking occurs thousands of feet below the water tables and is nowhere near.
Lie Lies and more lies from the Obama administration.

Oh, and 8:08 that video of the water on fire has been around for a while. That welll was flamable long befor fracking was around. More lies.

It seems to me that the EPA wants to make yet another rule without any sound scientific proof that there is any problem at all. If the well water stinks, then there should be enough of the specific chemical(s) used in fracking to be detectable. Without that, then it's just stinky well water; you know, the stuff that's been around for years!

8:12 - so, you are saying this is lies?

Fracking has been going on in Texas for over 30 years. Did some of the earlier fracking possibly damage some wells? Yeah, it's possible. But today, the standards are much higher, with many frackers actually collecting/re-using fracking liquids(as well as publicly listing the ingredients in the fracking material). Just another way for the left to destroy domestic sources of energy. Nothing more. I'd rather see domestic supplies, with domestic jobs, and higher safety regs HERE, then shipping our $$$/jobs abroad. NIMBY isn't going to work going forward.

Just to let all you Einstein's know, fracking does endanger the water table. If you look at ANY schematic that depicts fracking, drillers have to go THROUGH the water table in order to frack. Thereby making the water table susceptible to whatever chemicals are in the fracking solution. A solution whose chemical composition we don't know about because Dick Cheney pushed through a law that prohibited the requirement of these fracking companies to disclose their chemicals. Face facts all you republican idiots, if you can LIGHT your WATER on FIRE, there is something wrong.

There is no danger from fracking water wells in this part of the country have had methane gas in them since water wells were dug. There are plenty of pictures from the 1800's with wells on fire. This is nothing more than the Democrats standing in the way of economic recovery.

I can't believe people are arguing about this. Some would let others die to make a buck. Incredible.
