No Hitter? No Problem For Blind Teen Pitcher

Every now and then, you hear a story about an impressive kid and it makes you think, wow, his family must be so proud.

Enter, Doug Wells of Manasquan, N.J., the eldest of Rob and Jill Wells' three sons.

Doug is 15 and recently had some heroics on a Little League baseball field. He pitched a no-hitter.

Pretty impressive, right? But wait, there's more. Doug is legally blind.

annon. 3:22 your a safety issue, to the human race. Did you even read the article and watch the video. The video where he's wearing a mask so if the ball comes back up the middle! The "dumb" at the beginning of your post is obviously your signature.

Did he REALLY walk 47 batters??? Must have been an exciting game.

I'd like to know the source of the 47 walks myself because I did a quick google search on the article and found nothing. But the bottom line is who cares; he can barely see the catchers mitt and still has the courage to press on. Being involved in Little League the past 5 years I have seen oodles of kids afraid to stand in the batters box when the ball is pitched. This young man stands in there and can't even see the ball until its almost to the plate. He made some nice catches with the football as well- a jumping catch and one he had to go to the ground for. I'll take a Doug Wells anyday because he will give you a chance to win with his attitude alone and thats what really matters.
