Delaware State Police Urge Vigilance For 10th Anniversary of 9/11

Dover- In preparation for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 the Delaware State Police will remain at a heightened state of vigilance for any terrorist activity or threats.

DSP Special Units are on-standby.  High visibility patrols will be deployed to increase the security of our State’s critical infrastructure on the ground.  DSP Aviation helicopters and DSP Maritime units will be conducting proactive patrols and monitoring our critical infrastructure both by air and water. The Delaware Information and Analysis Center (DIAC) will continue to monitor and analyze intelligence information and threat streams.

All of these efforts are to increase our capabilities to deter, detect, and disrupt any terrorist activity, with the ultimate goal of keeping our citizens and visitors of Delaware safe and secure.

We encourage the public to remain vigilant as well, being aware of their surroundings, and to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.  Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activity to the Delaware Anti-Terrorism Tip Line 1-800-FORCE-1-2 (1-800-367-2312)

Yeah. Right. Uh huh. Lets have "increased patrols" and "special units" and "helicopter surveillance" and God knows what else, because, you know, when the terrorists (MILLIONS of them are lurking around every corner!!!) want to strike, they pass up Washington, New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Boston. They go straight for the highly populated and critical state of Delaware. Picture this --- a terrorist starts bragging about a car bomb he set off. With a satisfiying glint in his eye, the mullah asks what monument or national landmark of the infidels did he destroy? The terrorist replies, "I blew up a bridge in Millsboro, Delaware!" The mullah says "what?? where?" Then shoots him dead. Quit trying to scare 300 million people with the bogeyman and using it as an excuse to tighten the ever-increasing military and police presence among the civilian population. Now, before you goose-stepping, "lets surrender our rights right now, because if you're not doing anything wrong, who needs 'em anyway" lemmings (often called sheeple), start freaking out, there is nothing wrong with increased security in the most high profile possible targets. Its NOT an excuse for every single police department in the nation to go on defcon 5 alert. Stop trying to scare us.

you have to admit the introduction of the war on terror does really appeal to the faithful
they like to have black and white definitions of good and evil
saviors saints and dark eyed scary devils and boogie men
fear is a very primal instinct and the most exploitable
Pogo said it best " Weez met the enemy and daze is uz"
the notion that we are a nation of faithful origins traps us in that classical dichotomy
we love weddings funerals wars and memorials and big emotional boohooing displays especially under the cloud of FEAR
its the new collective
