It all goes back to your upbringing, did your parents teach any manners to you?
From what I see, no one anymore has any.
I see businessmen leaving tables in resturants to have private conversations on the cellphone while they are with other businessmen. I see some stay and talk loudly at the table, what is voicemail for DUAHHH!!!
I see families at tables and one or two kids playing with their phones, Texting friends. It is bad manners to not give your full attention to the people you are with. Use voicemail, don't text, don't serf the net, have conversations at the table with real live people!
Me thinks they think too much of themselves. I won't wait in line for a restaurant, much less sign some whack "contract" to eat there. Sounds to me like a bunch of pretentious "look at me" people trying to out-pretentious each other.

Sign of the times and a TOTAL LACK OF COURTESY.
People have no respect for anyone. Been like that for a while now. It's no surprise then that some that can will force them to be courteous and respectful of their neighbors.
Example of point: the recent trash dumping on Joe's property. Twice.
If you are that lazy or cheap to take it to the dump, you could at least find a dumpster in a mall or something to throw it in. You would still be a creep but at least the trash would end up where it is supposed to.
If you can't eat a meal without bothering the other guests, you shouldn't be there. Common sense is a thing of the past too.
