Maryland Adds 28,300 Government Jobs In Last Five Years

So maybe the movement to shrink the size of government isn’t as strong as you might think. Some of Maryland's federal jobs, to some extent, have been under pressure as government leaders explore ways to reduce spending.

Government jobs being counted here... is the loss of private sector jobs subtracted from this? If so, it sure doesn't sound like it. Private sector funds these jobs. Is everybody ready to pay more taxes?

I think we're doomed unless we take action...

Where does this information come from? I have worked for a Maryland State Agency for over 30 years and it is less than 1/2 the size it was in 1980.
I am not aware of any agencies adding personnel and in many cases when someone retires or resigns their job is eliminated. The workload is then dumped on their former co-workers. Maybe if your starting point was 1956 it would be believable.

The 28,000 you mentioned would amount to about a 30% increase in the state workforce. That is not a believable or credible figure.
