Weiner Will Continue to Collect Salary While on Leave

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) will continue to collect his $174,000 taxpayer-funded salary without interruption while he is taking a leave of absence to seek “professional treatment,” according to the House Administration Committee, which has oversight over the congressional payroll.

In a 365-day year, a congressman’s $174,000 annual salary works out to $476.71 per day.

Weiner announced Saturday through a spokeswoman that he would be taking a leave of absence from his duties in the House of Representatives.

528, and Cliton was impeached by the house and if not saved by his butt kissers in the senate would've been sent packing for what he did. This little weasle of a man needs to resign, now.

Clinton was impeached for lying to a jury rather than for what he did with "that woman." She was also in effect his employee, so he was violating rules in that respect. I agree that Weiner should go, as he can no longer be effective in his job.

Something tells me I am in the wrong career! I may be lucky if I make $75.00 a day working 10 hr days! And when I am not working, I am not getting paid $476,71 a day! I wish!

As soon as Senator David Vitter resigns for having sex with prostitutes (that's against the law, ladies and gentlemen), then I say that Weiner should resign. Where are all the Republicans calling for the resignation of David Vitter? I see the Dems calling for Weiner's resignation, but I don't see the Reps policing their own. Curious.

He can't do the job so he certainly shouldn't be paid. We the people also shouldn't be paying for the health insurance he'll be using to seek treatment.
People like this need to get out of office or be put out of office, period!

The Senate and House both exempt themselves from the laws they impose upon the rest of us, because, in their mind, they are too important and vital to the nation to be encumbered by those laws. They DON"T believe they are citizens serving other citizens. They are RULERS and think they are better then the serfs in every way. Thats why they can have the audacity to do the things they do with such impunity. Have sex with the pages. Have sex with their subordinates. Have sex with their subordinates spouses. Then pay them off with taxpayer money. Reward them with fake jobs. take bribes. Cheat on their taxes. Don't even bother to PAY taxes. Hire illegal and undocumented nannies and drivers. Use drugs. Do ninety miles an hour and kill people, then claim "immunity". the list is endless. but take heart. According to many, the system works. And anyone who would want that "system" dismantled is not a patriot. Have I missed something???? Because the rest of us would lose our jobs, be sued, do prison time, and would CERTAINLY NOT be allowed by our employer to say "oh, my bad. I'm sorry...I'm gonna go ahead and get some treatment and take a couple months off. Go ahead and send my paycheck to my bank. I'll be back soon...(as soon as the heat dies down). Ready for work! But WE are their employer, right? NOT ACCORDING TO THEM! And Jefferson wouldn't be calling for a revolution?
