WASHINGTON - Virginia's public radio and TV stations are about to take a big hit in funding.
Gov. Bob McDonnell has made a line item veto in the state's budget that eliminates $424,000 orginally allocated for public broadcasting.
He says the veto is in tune with his pledge to refucus state govvernment on its core functions.
The governor signed the overall budget bill.
Public broadcasting has been a frequent target on Capitol Hill as well, but federal funding was not cut in the current budget.
