Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On April 30, 2011 at approximately 2:55 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of South Salisbury Boulevard and West College Avenue and stopped a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. The initial contact with the suspect revealed that the suspect was driving the vehicle without a license. As the officer met with the operator, the officer detected a strong scent of suspected marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The vehicle was checked and resulted in the discovery of a large amount of suspected marijuana packaged in several large individual bags. The total amount located was in excess of one hundred (100) grams.

ARRESTED: Levar Kinte Campbell, 33 years of age Crisfield, Maryland

Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia (3 counts)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201100016424

On April 30, 2011 at approximately 4:43 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the seven hundred (700) block of Ramsey Court for the report of loud noises. Upon arrival the officers met with a resident of the area who indicated that subjects inside of the apartment were causing loud noises which made it impossible for neighbors to sleep. The officers made contact with the suspect residence and met with an adult female victim of an assault. A witness was interviewed and advised the officers that during an argument, the below listed suspect had assaulted the female victim. The assault resulted in the victim sustaining injuries to her facial area and her left ankle. The victim was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment and was released. During the investigation of the assault the officers observed quantities of suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine, and related paraphernalia inside of the residence in plain view.

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201100016433

On May 1, 2011 at approximately 12:37 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on patrol in the area of South Division Street and Market Street to assist with a call for a large crowd. Upon arrival the officers observed the below listed suspect in the intersection yelling profanities. Officers attempted to calm the suspect but were unable to do so. The suspect was placed under arrest without incident.

CHARGES: Disorderly conduct

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201100016569

On May 1, 2011 at approximately 2:48 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of East Lincoln Avenue and Jackson Street and stopped a vehicle occupied by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. During the traffic stop the officers detected the scent of suspected marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The vehicle was checked and resulted in the discovery of a plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected marijuana. The suspected marijuana was found to be the property of the below listed suspect.

ARRESTED: Torrey Berkley Bischoff, 23 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201100016585

On May 1, 2011 at approximately 11:42 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding warrant charging the suspect with child abuse as a result of an incident that occurred on April 29. On that date, Officers of the Salisbury Police responded to a residence on Smith Street to assist the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, the officers found that three (3) small children had been left alone in the residence with a number of large dogs. The children had been exposed to conditions found to be both unsafe and unsanitary. The children’s ages were five (5) months and one (1) year and ten (10) months (twins).

Reckless endangerment (3 counts)
Unsafe conditions for child (3 counts)
Second degree child abuse (3 counts)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201100016274

On May 1, 2011 at approximately 10:44 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant charging the suspect with a burglary and assault that occurred earlier the same day. At approximately 10:00 am, the officers were called to respond to a residence on the six hundred (600) block of Fitzwater Street in reference to an assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult male victim who advised that he had been inside of the residence when he heard loud banging on his front door. The victim responded and was confronted by the below listed suspect, who was known to the victim. The victim refused entry to the suspect, who became enraged and made entry by breaking the front door. The suspect then assaulted the victim. The suspect initially held the victim, but the victim was able to escape the suspect and notified the police. The victim did not require medical assistance.

Fourth degree burglary
Second degree assault
False imprisonment
